Cultured Marble Products (Marblex® - Granitex® - Onyx - TruStone®)
Care
- Clean routinely with a soft sponge or cloth. DO NOT USE ABRASIVE CLEANERS. Use only a mild soap, a glass cleaner or a non-abrasive foam bathroom cleaner. For best results, we recommend Athena A-New®, the one step cleaner and polish to maintain luster and make day to day cleaning easier.
- Use Athena A-New® which cleans, seals and protects in one easy application.
- Do not use cleaners with an abrasive such as Comet or Soft Scrub.
- Avoid placing cigarettes, acetone base fingernail polish removers, or sharp objects i.e. knives and razor blades on marble surfaces. A mild abrasive such as automobile polishing compound or baking soda will remove most scratches and most stains.
- Surface damage on MATTE FINISHED marble and granite can normally be repaired by lightly sanding with 600 grit sand paper.
- Improper cleaning, age, settling of the structure, etc. can result in caulked joints leaking. Caulking on wet surfaces should be periodically inspected to ensure leakage does not occur. For caulk repairs, use 100% silicone caulking compound.
- Misting caulking on wet surfaces weekly with a 50% solution of bleach and water will help to prevent mildew buildup.
